The BEST Memory of the Last Chapter

4 years ago, I was still struggling whether I should come Singapore for my Degree. Fortunately, my parents supported me all the way, let me follow my dream to study in Singapore. And now I've successfully graduated from NTU!

If someone ask me what is my memory about my University life, except from those horrible memories of chiong-ing projects, mugging for exams, my best memory will be the moment when I decided to join the Japanese Appreciation Club! From that onward, I have a lot of great memories in NTU instead of the boring mugging life.

I still remember during the Welcome Week in my first year, I was walking around North Spine area hoping to find some clubs which are Japanese related. Because I came here from Malaysia and most of my friends were in Malaysia, so I really hope to make some new friends which have a similar interest as me from such clubs. Then outside LT7 and LT8 there was booth call "Japanese Appreciation Club". The word "Japanese" and "日本" like a magnet keep "dragging" me towards the booth. While I approached the booth, there was a handsome guy came out from the booth and explaining the club to me. I was super interested to join the club but at that time my Jap level was 0, so I asked that guy if I don't know about Japanese language can I still join the club? I still remember clearly what that guy told me, "Of Course! Like me, I'm going to be the next President of this club and I just know a few Japanese words only. So its not a problem!" Yes, the one who explained to me and made me wanna join the club was the JAC 15th President, Ivan Sim!

My second best moment would be the time when I decided to go for the sub-committee interview and being recruited as Events Subcomm. If I never took the courage to go for that interview, I will never get to know the others main committee members and those active members in the club. Along the way, I really got to know a lot of friends, like my first bosses, Pong and Benjamin, the Yakuza.
A Classic Photo
One of the small part of reasons(just a small part) that motivated me to keep joining the club is because there are cute girls in the club, like our JAC hime-sama, Michelle! She was the Vice-President for Ivan and also the 16th President. It can't be deny that she is cute, and one of my friend (not in JAC) in these 4 years whenever he saw a photo of me and Michelle, he keep mentioning she is cute without noticing he had mentioned it before. LOL. She is the kind of President who want everyone to have fun in an event, and laughter everywhere. I also can saw her passion to Japanese culture and always trying to make a better JAC. I'm really glad to know her and she be my second President in JAC
A memorable photo when my katana haven't lost yet
Also in my batch, I got to know this big guy who I first worked with in our very first event in JAC. He then become our JAC landmark where almost every generation of JAC members know him. Our David-san, he was like a "father" to us who always take care of us and help us whenever we need some help. I'm really happy to get to know him since my first year and really hope he won't be a "father" to anyone anymore but a life partner for someone. David, GANBATTE!
Our very first JAC event where I demo how to wear a male Yukata and David was the narrator

After being an Events Subcomm for 2 years, I was finally being recruited into the JAC Management Team, to be the IT & Media Director. I was damn happy to be a MainComm in JAC as I really want to contribute to the club who had gave me a lot of great moments in NTU. In the team, there was a GOD.... Jason! He is such a knowledgeable person who knows almost everything. I was also amazed by the way he improve his Japanese language without attending any classes outside. I wonder when can I speak as fluent Japanese as him. Even though he had graduated and started working in Japan, he never forget about JAC and keep volunteering to help out JAC in any ways. It was really nice to know such a wise person with creative mind. Really appreciate what he have done so far for JAC!
Graduated for 2 years, still helping JAC. Arigatou!!!
The one thing that I never really thought of after joining JAC was to become the President. I was a bit shocked to be called to take up that role, but I really LOVE JAC and want to contribute more, so I took up the role to be the 18th JAC President. Even though it was a hard time for me, luckily my ex-boss, Salimah was always there for me. She is a cheerful and ero girl, who tried to entertain everyone in the event so that everyone can have fun in it. She is also very serious to her work and want the event to be as perfect as it can be. I was really glad to work under her and learnt a lot of stuff from her. Even though she had passed down her role to me, she still giving me her support and advice and help me get through some of my difficult time. Really happy to have her in JAC who always raise up the atmosphere in events and glad to have her to be my third JAC President.
Thank you for choosing me as the President. Hope I never let you down.
From subcomm to MainComm to President of JAC, experienced up and down moments, I can say I don't have anymore regret for my Uni life (maybe got one, that is not able to complete my "FYP" LOL). I'm really happy to know all the JACians and have my great memories in NTU with them! Even though I have graduated, I'm always a JACian!!!
My 2 VP, Serene and Rafi who helped me a lot in taking care of the club
and never complaint when I say to dance Perfume together ^^

Got to know some Japanese friends as well

Even though we are from different courses, we are still close to each other
THANK YOU JAC!
